Accreditations

The National Electricity Registration Scheme (NERS Accredited) is managed by Lloyds Register on behalf of the UK Distribution Network Operators (DNOs).   It was introduced as part of the process of introducing competition into the electrical services market.

Power On Connections was the first company in the UK to gain full accreditation under the new two stage partial accreditation scheme for Independent Connections Providers (ICP’s) in 2003

To gain accreditation Power On Connections were subject to rigorous competency assessments and are currently accredited to carry out the following works:

  • Cable Laying  ( LV, 11kV, 33kV )
  • Civil Works
  • Jointing  ( LV Dead, LV Live, 11kV, 33kV )
  • Substation Installation  ( 11kV, 33kV )
  • Electrical Design of Distribution Networks Covering  ( HV Cable Networks 11kV, HV Cable Networks 33kV, S/Station 11kV, S/Station 33kV )

GTC (our parent company) holds an OFGEM distribution licence through its subsidiary The Electricity Network Company (ENC) as an independent distribution network operator (IDNO).  This licence enables networks to be owned, operated and maintained within the group.  Power On Connections are able to offer IDNO quotations on certain scope projects.
